Andrews Globalization Timeline

  • 19 BCE

    Protectionism

    Protectionism
Around the 19th Century Great Britain abandoned its tariffs, after it had achieved industrial preeminence in Europe. I think that started an uprising of Globalization because many people were very mad that they just left their tariffs, after they were succeeding.
  • Slave Trade

    Slave Trade
I relive salve trade had a big impact on Globalization back then because not only was it useful for farmers, but everyone wanted slaves for their houses, to do chores. People started talking to each other and trading slaves began and they were shipped to other places to be a slave somewhere else.
  • Industrial Capitals

    Industrial Capitals
Industrial Capitals were a huge part for everyone back then, the made everything. People wanted what was being made in other places, so Globalization was a necessity for them to get that.
  • Word War 1

    Word War 1
World War One was fought out by many people. Not only did they need allies but they needed supplies for the war. Globalization helped to create allies and have a demand for goods, for soldiers and weaponry.
  • Great Depression

    Great Depression
The Great Depression sparked a huge uprising at the time of it. America had fallen and was struggling to get back on its feet They had to reach out and look for new strategies, ways, and people that could help out. So they needed Globalization to help them to build their strength back up.
  • invention of Technology

    invention of Technology
Technology played a huge roll in my eyes for Globalization. Many other countries and places didn't have the technology to build weapons or even become smarter as a whole country. Technology made other places of the world start talking to each other because they knew that you could do so much with it.
  • Global Brands

    Global Brands
Brands are a big part in the way people live, and how their culture is shaped. So when new brands were brought up many people wanted them, like google, clothing etc.. So it sparked Globalization cause people looked at it like I want what they have.
  • 911

    911
911 put a big spark for Globalization because it was an act of terrorism. That caused us to think smartly if we want to fight back or affiliate with them nicely with a deal. 911 put a huge impact on Globalization, because we had to start talking with other places on what to do and how to react.
