  • 4004 BCE

    Creation

    Creation was when God created the world. God created Adam and Eve in his image.God created anything and everything that exists.He created the heavens and the earth.
  • 2349 BCE

    The Flood

    The flood was when God flooded the whole earth. God flooded the earth because all the people but Noah and his family were so evil. It rained hard for 40 days and 40 nights. After the flood God made a covenant with Noah that he would never flood the whole earth again
  • 2166 BCE

    Abraham

    Abraham was a follower of God. God promised Abraham that he would have descendants as many as the stars. God promised Abraham that he would have descendants as numerous as the grains of sand on the beach. Abraham left his homeland of Ur to obey God's plan.

    Joseph

    Joseph was the favorite of twelve brothers. He was given a coat of many colors as a symbol that he was the favorite. His brothers hated him and sold him into slavery to Egypt. Joseph became the vizier of the pharaoh and saved the land and his brothers from famine.

    Moses and the Exodus

    Moses was adopted by the Egyptian princess. Moses killed an egyptian that was beating an isrealite so he fled. Moses was spoken to by God in a burning bush. God told Moses to deliver the israelites from the hand of the egyptians.

    The Ten Commandments

    The Ten Commandments were given to Moses by God. God engraved the words of the Ten Commandments with his own hands. When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the Ten Commandments he found the isrealites worshipping a golden calf. Moses was so angry that he broke the tablet of the Ten Commandments.

    Settling Canaan

    The Isrealites started settling Canaan after the exodus. at first they sent twelve spies into Canaan 10 were bad and 2 were good. the 10 bad ones said they couldn't take Canaan the 2 good ones said they could. because of their unbelief they wandered around the desert for 40 extra years.

    David

    David was the 2nd king of Israel. David was a conquerer and had a ton of land. David first killed Goliath the giant warrior. David wanted to build God a temple but God said he wanted it to be a place of peace and that his son would build it.

    Solomon and Building the Temple

    Solomon was David's son and was the one chosen to build the temple. God came to Solomon in a dream and asked if he could have any one thing what would he have, Solomon asked for wisdom. Solomon became the most wise in all of the world and all before him. Solomon built God an extravagant temple in which the inside was almost all gold.

    The Division of the Kingdom

    after Solomon died Rehaboam took over. people came to Rehaboam to ask if he would get rid of the harsh taxation of his father, Rehaboam rejected. The people responded with rebellion and the southern kingdom(Judah) stayed with Rehaboam. The ten Northern tribes(Israel) went with Jeraboam.

    The Assyrian Conquest of Israel

    Sennacherib says that he had surrounded the Jerusalem like a bird in a cage. His bragging records end in silence how the Jerusalem campaign ended.The battle of Lachish was different because Sennacherib won. The Bible mentions the battle and that the Assyrians won.
  • 709 BCE

    Sennacherib vs. Hezekiah

    Hezekiah prepared for war by making a tunnel to bring water to Jerusalem. Hezekiah also constructed a HUGE wall to keep them out. Sennacherib lid seige to Lachish. A seal from Lachish names Hezekiah as the king of Lachish.

    Daniel

    Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego all refused to eat the food blessed by one of the Babylonian gods. They requested that they eat vegetables and water for 10 days. at the end of the 10 days they were far more healthy and strong than anyone else. Daniel was also later thrown into a lions den and God kept him safe.

    The Babylonian conquest of Judah

    Nebuchadnezzar made Jehoiakim pay taxes. Nebuchadnezzar took youths and royalty to Babylon(Daniel was in this group). The heavy taxes tempted Jehoiakim to rebel. Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem and deported Jehoiakim to Babylon.
  • 586 BCE

    The Exile

    The Exile or 'Diaspora' was when Israel and Judah were taken over by other countries. 'Diaspora' is the name Jews used for the Exile. This is the first time “Jew,” coming from the word Yehud which means Judah is used. The survivors of the seige of Jerusalem were spread out around the Babylonian Empire.
  • 538 BCE

    Cyrus the Great

    The Exile ended when he conquered Babylon. Daniel has a vision about Cyrus conquering Babylon. Not long after he made a law that allowed the Jews to return to their homeland and rebuild their temple. The Book of Daniel says how and why Cyrus conquered the city.
