    Columbus Finds America
    Christopher Columbus was wanting to sail to China but he thought he would take a shortcut but he ended up landing in America. Then Christopher Columbus finds america On October 12, 1492 he did not discover it because people were already living there. This is important to America because he was one of the first people to find America.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    The reason to our happniess is the British were so bossy and comandive and made us do what we didn't want to do. So the Americans had a draft to see who would go and the draft of the Declaration of Independence was made at The Library of Congress. The Declaration of Independence is important to the United States because that is when we were no longer apart of the British Empire and thats when we were a Independent Country.

    The Louisiana Purchase
    The U.S. paid 60 million francs ($11,250,000) plus cancellation of debts worth 18 million francs ($3,750,000), for a total sum of 15 million dollars for the Louisiana territory. The purchase of the territory of Louisiana took place during the presidency of Thomas Jefferson. At the time, the purchase faced domestic opposition because it was thought to be unconstitutional. So Jefferson made the purchase to buy the land. This is important to America because this was some or all of our 15 states.

    This war was 4 years, 3 weeks, and 6 years. This war was over slaves because the Confereracy wanted slaves and the Union thought that was wrong for people to work for them and be 19 times to help other slave get to the North side to get out of slavery. Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant at Appatomax Court House April 9th. This is an important day because America finally stoped fighting and long after the war the Union and Conferacy became one and they called them selfs the USA.

    Abraham Lincolin got shot in the head at the Fords Theater while watching Our American Cousin at the night of April 14, 1865. He died early the next morning. Lincoln was the first American president to be assassinated. The assassination happened five days after Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant and the Union Army of the Potomac. This event is important to America because one of our presidents (Abriham Lincolin) got assassinated because John Wilkes Booth shot him in the head.

    Thomas Edison was an American inventor and businessman. He developed many devices that taught life around the world, including the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting electric light bulb. Thomas Edison invented this because back then they could only use daylight but at night it was pitch black. This project took him thousnads of trys but he still found out a solution. This is important to America because if he had not invented it we would be living in the drak forever.

    Assassination of John F. Kenndy
    This is important to America because another one of our presidents was shot. John F. Kennedy was shot while traviling with his wife Jacqueline, Texas Governor John Connally. There was a ten-month investigation by the Warren Commission foun out that Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. However, polls happened from 1966-2004 found that as many as 80 percent of Americans have suspected that there was a plot or cover-up.

    Apollo 11 was the spaceflight which landed the first humans, Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, on the Moon on July 20, 1969. Neil Armstrong was the first man to step on the moon. A third member of the mission, Michael Collins, remained in orbit until they returned from the surface about 15 hours later. All three astronauts returned to Earth safely after travelling in space for 8 days. This Space mission is important to america because we were the first people to ever step on the moon.

    This is very important to America because this killed many many people in New York like family members that were in the plane and people even at work. This day is important to the United States because this is the day when we rember when the attacks on all of our important strucktures were distroyed and there were more than 3,000 people who were killed and injured.
  • Osama Bin Ladens Death

    Osama Bin Ladens Death
    This day is the best day for America because Osama Bin Laden died. Osama Bin Laden was the leader of the of 9/11. He was killed in Pakistan on May 2, 2011, local time by Navy SEALs of the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group. The code-named Operation Neptune Spear, was ordered by United States President Barack Obama. There was a raid on bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. After the raid, U.S. forces took bin Laden's body to Afghanistan for identification.
