Proclamation of 1763
The British set a boundary for the colonists. Colonists cannot go East of the Appalachian Mountains. They did that so colonists couldn't start tensions between them and the French.

The Stamp Act
An act to raise money for Great Britain so they could pay for their army. Every time there was their certain stamp (print) on a good. That good would have a higher tax. These taxes would be seen on many forms of paper and documents. This made colonists mad because they now have to pay more for goods.

Boston Massacre
A riot that started between the redcoats and patriots. Patriots started throwing snowballs, ice, stones, etc. Then the redcoats started to get mad. A red coat then heard fire and shot at the patriots starting a fight. Since, someone died that made colonists and patriots mad. Leaving tensions to start rising even more for both sides.

The Tea Act
It was expanded from the Stamp Act. It made life necessities taxed as well as items already taxed. That made colonists mad because now they are paying even more for things that don't need to be that much money.

The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was when the sons and daughters of liberty went to go dump tea into the water. Sons and daughters of liberty went onto a British boat and started to throw all the tea off. They were to dump tea off and nothing else. They did this so the British had no tea to tax them on. "Taxation without Representation." This made the British mad because now all their tea is at waste -
Intolerable Acts
4 laws that the British made that broke down the rights of the colonists. This will make colonists want to rebel against the British. The colonists will rebel because they are being invaded and having all of their rules broken.

Lexington and Concord
Known as shot heard around the world. This marked the start of the American War of Independence. The point of Lexington and Concord was to seize all weapons from colonists so they couldn't rebel. Colonists got mad because they won't have weapons.

The Battle of Bunker Hill
Although the British won the battle colonists believe they can will. They think that because the only reason they lost was because they ran out of ammunition. So now they know they can fight the British and defeat them. The British are now aware of that and nervous because they know they can get deated by the colonists.

Invasion of Canada
A group of men led by Ethan Allen to go fight for Americans. They went to fight for America and invade important British forts. This is the first time they attacked first against the British. This is important because now the colonists are showing they will attack even if the British aren't ready.

Common Sense
Thomas Paine made a pamphlet on why you want to be free. Many read the pamphlet and realized maybe they want to be a patriot because they don't have to pay taxes, they have their own freedom, etc. After the pamphlet was out it made many people become patriots. This is deaf-ting for the British because they know they don't have as many people.

Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was written because patriots wanted to be free from England. After the pamphlet was made by Thomas Paine people realized that they wanted to be free. More people were becoming patriots and Thomas Jefferson then decided to make a draft of the Declaration of Independence. And sent it to the delegates to get voted on.

Battle of Princeton/Trenton
Afterwards, colonists crossed the Delaware River in a storm George Washington started the battle. The Washington army defeated the Hessian army of Britain. This impacts the war because it restored confidence in Washington and his army.

Saratoga
Saratoga showed hope for colonists winning the war for freedom. They marched in lines at each other (fought like the British) the colonies then won. Then, the French joined the war. This war showed hope for freedom which was another step for confidence.

This was a training camp over the spring. This was important because the patriots were starting to be professional and learn proper techniques. This impacted the war because colonists are now able to fight, and fight with power.

War In The South
The War of the South was the last chance for the British. The British went West and East but the colonists were already there so they went South. In the South there were a lot of loyalists. Then they would stay in loyalist houses but the loyalists didn't like that. Leaving more patriots. Then the French started to help Colonists. This impacted the war because colonists now had more people on their side ready to fight for freedom. -
Yorktown
Yorktown is the final battle of the American Revolution. Lord Cornwallis surrendered his British Army to the American/French forces. This is a huge victory for the colonists because they can now start their own country.
