American Revolution

  • French & Indian War

    British battled off with the French. The French were allied with MOST of the Indians but not all. Some Indians did side with the British but most sided with French because they didn't take their land and try to kick them out. This war ended in the "Treaty of Paris." British ended up winning the war and retaining most of the land the French had.
  • Sugar Act

    British wanted to end the trade of all sugar and molasses. This included Rum and anything else with sugar produced with it. Often times they would board ships to see if they were smuggling Sugar to trade or sell.
  • Troops sent in Boston as military police

    British soldiers were sent into Boston to keep track of the colonists. They also had duty's such as guarding areas and patrolling the town. With all of the troops, Boston was crowded and tension was getting higher. This sadly led to the Boston Massacre.
  • Boston Massacre

    A group of British soldiers were stationed outside the Loyalist store when American colonists started rioting in front of the soldiers. There are many different stories from different sides but the most told story is there was a shot from either side that was taken and the word 'FIRE" was said from a Colonist, so the British soldiers started firing back in defense. Americans had clubs and rocks that were thrown. 3-5 died
  • Boston Tea Party

    On the night of December 16, 1773. Sam Adams lead a group of colonists to throw over a million dollars worth of tea (in today's time) into the Boston port.
  • Lexington & Concord

    Britsh knew were the colonist guns were hidden, So early in the morning, the British started marching towards Lexington to confiscate the weapons. The colonist got word of this and sent a messenger to tell the people that "the British are coming". This gave the colonists time to set up for there attack.
  • Declaration of independence

    Declaration of independence was writing making the U.S an independent colony.
