THIS IS THE TURNING POINT
The Boston Massacre was caused by the Stamp Act. This was when the British soldiers were in Boston, and many angry colonists were rioting because they didn't want to pay a tax on papers. Then one of the British soldiers shot at the unarmed colonists causing what we know as The Boston Massacre. -
The tea act was enacted by the king, and it caused only certified merchants to be able to sell tea, and anybody who sold tea without a permit would be shutdown. This caused the colonists to get mad because they didn't want to buy the certified tea.

The Boston Tea Party was the result of the Tea Act. The colonists were mad because they didn't want to pay a tax on Tea, and they didn't want to only buy from the certified merchants so they snuck onto a ship filled with Tea, and threw 342 chests of tea into the harbor.

The intolerable acts were a result of the Boston Tea Party. The king was mad after discovering that the colonists threw the tea into the Harbor, and as a punishment he placed the Intolerable acts.

The Olive Branch petition was the final attempt made by the colonists to create peace between the King. The Colonists created a petition to bring peace, but the king denied to read it.
