Dennis Banks Major Native American leader and founder of the American Indian Movement (AIM). He participated in the occupation of Alcatraz Island and he assisted in organizing the Trail of Broken Treaties for the American Indian Movement.

The founding of the AIM happened because the founders wanted others to renew spirtuality and correct the governement. The AIM has better organized communities and provide opportunity for indians within the Americas. They have created Indian reservations across America, Canada, Central and South America.
