When the railroads were complete, many Americans got on the trains and would shoot Buffalo for their fur. Buffalo herd was very popular in Europe and in the North. The Americans didn't care that they were on Natives' land.

In 1876, The Natives were forced to leave their Black Hills and give them to the Americans. There was gold in the Black Hills and the Americans wanted to use it. The Antives just needed a place to live and that was where their entire life was.
