Soldiers had to live in holes in the ground, no shower/hygiene, infections on the body especially on the foot from mud. Men have cried and screamed from the pain they experienced. -

The U.S stayed neutral for a while as other countries were coming and going/on and off with teaming up. -
Hoovervilles
During the great depression, 1 out of 4 Americans was out of work. So that made people homeless. They build camps outside of busy cities using wood, metal, blankets and anything they could get their hands on. Those camps were known as shantytowns. They asked the gov't for help but refused. So American citizens blamed president hoover for the great depression. -
Hoovers gone
In 1932, President Hoover lost the presidential election to Franklin D. Roosevelt. Roosevelt created programs that helped lift the U.S. out of the depression. By the early 1940s, most remaining Hoovervilles were torn down. -
Angry soldiers
In 1932, people were upset. That year, thousands of men who had fought for our country in World War 1 were promised at least $1000. $1.25 was earned in 1 day at war. it adds up. But the gov't refused to pay. So the public went to war with the public. (AKA riot) -
D-Day (AKA Decision Day)
6,603 U.S men were killed during the fight on June 6th, 1944. -

North and south Korea were split by the 38th parallel. It divided the north and south from communists from the anti-communists. -
