    Though, there is only an approximate day and month we know Columbus set sale in 1492. He thought he was going to Asia but actually landed in the Bahama's. Even though it wasn't Asia the America's were rich with resources, and Europe was rich with deseases. Bringing over five deadly deaseases long since dormant in their bodies.
  • Jamestown, Virginia

    Jamestown, Virginia
    The first major English settlement in what is now Virginia. There was much danger because of Native Americans, Desease, and starvation. They especially struggled with this the first year. Edward Wingfeild was the first president.
  • Mayflower

    The Mayflower was an English ship with 102 passengers, they were know as Pilgrims. An exact month and date are not available. The ship was drove by Thomas Weston. They also escaped religious prosecution.
  • Salem Witch Trials

    Salem Witch Trials
    Salem, Massachusetts, goes crazy as witchcraft suspects are arrested. A special court is then set up by the governor of Massachusetts. Between June and September, 150 people are accused, with 20 persons, including 14 women, being executed. By October, the hysteria subsides, remaining prisoners are released and the special court is dissolved.

    French force attacks George Washington and his troops at Fort Necessity because of the massacre of the French at the Great Meadows. Washington is forced to surrender. but the war is far from over

    French and Indian (Seven Years) War ends
    The Treaty of Paris is ratified, ending the French and Indian War. Signed on 3 November 1762, the treaty was delayed by critics. In the treaty, France surrenders all of its former North American territories east of the Mississippi River to Britain, except New Orleans (Louisiana Territory).

    The Boston Massacre was the killing of colonists by British soldiers on March 5, 1770. It was the result of tensions that had been on the rise since British soldiers arrived to enforce Tax laws. John Adams was the the Defending lawyer and though he was a future independence leader, at the time he was a loyalist.

    The majority of the Contitutional Convention agreed on a final draft for the constitution, but the real deciders were the American public who would see if they liked it.

    The first Ten Amend. to the Constitution that state citizens rights. They Are:
    1. The right to the liberity of speech, press, to petition, and religion and that the gov.t cannot promote any religion
    2. The right to have and bare arms, and to have a militia
    3. The gov.t cannot overtake property unless there is a threat to security near
    4. Protection against unreasonable search and seizure
    5. No one with capital or infamous crimes has to answer any questions without being tried by a grand jury

    1. The right to a speedy trial, a public trial, to know your charges, to be challenged by witness, and to have a lawyer
    2. The right to jury trial for federal court issues such
    3. The right to a fair bail, and no cruel and unusual punishment
    4. The right to other rights besides those listed in amendments 1-8 10.The right to have other rights given be state gov.t.

    15 million dollar purchase of the louisiana territory from France, that doubled the United States size taking it passed the Mississippi river, helping to further approve Manifest Destiny.

    There were many reasons for the war of 1812 but only one is needed to fully describe the situation; Britain was trying to control America. They were blocking our trade and taking our citizens to fight in their war with Napoleon.

    Though this was the technical end of the war, there was still the spectacular battle of New Orleans, which was around the actual time Americans heard about the treaty. Andrew Jackson was very skilled in his defeat of the British.

    Abraham Lincoln proclaimed that if the Confederacy does not surrender by January 1st, 1863, all slavery will be illegal, in all states.

    Official amendment to the Constitution that made forced labor and slavery illegal. Wasn't ratified by mississippi until 2013!!!!!!!

    With the surrender of Robert E, Lee at the city of Appomatox Courthouse, the civil war was ended, and the slaves were freed.
  • President Lincoln is Assassinated

    President Lincoln is Assassinated
    The president is assassinated by John W. Booth, who was a Northern man himself, at the Ford Theater in Washington D.C. he died the next morning, and was buried in Springfeid, Illinois.
  • 14th Amendment

    Gave citizenship, and the right to vote to anyone who was: born in America, European, as well as former Slaves. These rights were not given to Native Americans as they refused to follow "White Man's Law"

    The boat headed from Southampton U.K. to New York City, U.S.A. hits an Iceberg and sank in the Atlantic ocean. 1500 died, and 600 survived
