Still a win but following Bunker Hill, the King slammed the door to all hope of reconciliation because most of these soldiers-for-hire came from the German principality of Hesse, the Americans called all Euro-mercenaries Hessians.

    British surrendered and France joined the war on the side of Americans. France offered a treaty of alliance, offering America everything that Britain had offered, plus recognition of independence. France sent navy and troops to help out the colonists.

    Washington crossed Delaware River and he move stealthily and recrossed the Delaware River while surprising and capturing 1000 hessians. A week later Washington defeated small British force at Princeton, these two victories revealed “Old Fox” Washington at his military best.

    General Cornwallis surrenders to American and French troops that surrounded him. One of darkest periods of war was 1780-1781, before last decisive victory the government was virtually bankrupt and declared it would repay debt at only 2.5 cents per dollar. Despair prevailed so sense of unity withered.
