    In this battle the British was split into two. They had two groups of 9,000. The Continental army had 11,000, and was outnumbered. George Washington was surprised by the British army being split into two. The American congress fled, and the American army. When they retreated they were forced to leave many cannons behind, because of the lack of horses. The reason of importance is British took control of chadds ford.

The Patriots quickly ran up the mountain and knocked out many loyalist. The British force did not give up and went on a suicide mission.
