Salva thinks of what could've happended to his family in the war, while he walks with his group to who knows where. Simply, they're walking away from the war.

Salva's group ditched him and then was cared for by an old lady before another group came and picked him up. Now he's walking North to Ethopia

Salva meets up with a kid about the same age as him named Marial. Marial is a smart, young lad who comfirmed that the group is indeed going north to Ethopia. Things to come with him that is a tradgedy.

Salva finds his uncle in his travling group and sees that his uncle has become the leader of the group he's been travling in for the past few days.

Salva wonders what does his uncle's gun represent? What could effect him because he has the gun? All these question are to make sure of his uncle's safety because he doesn't have anyone else he can lean on.

After walking for a day Salva, Marial and Salva's uncle rest while a few men keep watch for things, but their eye wasn't good enough because a lion came in and chowed down on Marial, and then All Salva could concentrate on from that point on was Murial.

Salva and his uncle must cross the Nile River by boat on a two day trip that has them stop in the middle of the Nile and sleep on an island with fishermen

After crossing the Nile Salva and his group had to walk days through the desert and Salva almost couldn't survive if it were'nt for his uncle who kept him going.

when Salva's group takes a pit stop and is cooking a bird for dinner a Nuer group with guns comes and robs them. Then, notices Salva's uncle's gun and thinks he's important to the group and the Nuer ties uncle to a tree and shoot him. Then the Nuer run.

Salva is a sent to a refugee camp in Ethopia and he finally feels relaxed from all the walking he did.

Salva at first had beleif his family was still alive, but now since his uncle told him they were probably dead he gave up hope a little bit after Salva's group got to the refugee camp.

Salva has been in Ethopian Refugee Camp for six years and now is being forced back over to Sudan for reasons unknown.

Salva and every other person in the Ethopian Refugee camp were being pushed into crocodile filled water. What made it even worse was that the Ethopian were shooting at them while they swam across the river. Salva heard thousands died that day, but he asked why was he so lucky. why wasn't he one of the thousands that died?

Salva had a long one and a half year journey from Ethopia to Kenya, but now Salva is in a refugee camp in Kenya where he's is learning English and will soon goto the usa to meet a new family that adopted him.

Salva finds out that his father and some of his family is still alive. When Salva sees his father they can't stop talking of what happened without each other. In all Salva lost 2 out of 3 brothers, but still has his 2 sisters, his father, and his mother. Then Salva thinks of a plan to help people in Sudan and anywhere really.

Nya once again has to go to the water pond to scoop up water with her jug and takes half the day away from her. Then gets a thorn stuck in her foot and has to try to pick it out with another thorn.

Nya has a thought which was what if she didn't have to walk to the dinking pond everyday to gather water. What if we had water in the village somehow,

Nya is at a camp and might be having problems with her mother and doesn't know what to do.

Akeer, one of Nya's relatives gets sick from the water and now Salva's family has to take her to a clinic along way away.

Nya's mother is always thinking what if. What if Nya's father and brother don't come back from hunting. There are dinkas out there and they are one dinka tribe away from being killed.

Nya wonders and thinks since Akeer got sick is the water safe to drink anymore? She thinks what if i get sick or the whole town gets sick? What will we do then?

Akeer has no healed from his sickness and is almost fully walking around. Now Nya wonder of what's to come for his Nuer village.

Nya doesn't understand where the water is. Some people say it's between these two trees, but all Nya sees is a dry spot.

Two men came to Nya's village and declare they know where the water is. From that moment on everywhere Nya looked they were looking for the water. They were doing anything. For example the two men who came had a crew and they were digging a hole with a machine trying and trying to find that water

After awhile Nya doesn't understand why they are digging on the dry spot because obviously no water is sprouting out

Nya didn't get why everyone was still looking for the water for more than a few months now if none came. she asked herself, " Is my village really that desperate for the water."

Nya didn't understand why the pile of gravel was getting bigger everyday.

Nya is then facisnated by the process of which the workers work. Nya just went on and on about how the workers did the digging so splendidly and then the boss would encourage his workers, so they'd work harder. Things like that is what she ment by the process of their work.

The workers in Nya's village finally hit water in a what seemed like forever, but it isn't clean water so they can't drink it. The workers said they just have to dig a little deeper so the dirt clears out

Nya finds out there will be clean water soon. She can't wait

Salva, at last gets a chance to learn at a school.

A. Salva figured out a plan to help people around the world and met Nya by voulenteering as the boss of this whole water deal, but since the Dinka and the Nuer hate each other and his uncle was killed by Nuer this must have been hard for Salva to do.
B. Nya met Salva because after Nya's village finally got clean water she went up to the boss of the water crew and said thank you and the man said his name was Salva
