The socs and greasers met in the cinema, which is the essential cause of whole things; otherwise, Ponyboy and Cherry would not talk about sunset. With it, a special relationship which means Ponyboy and Cherry helped and understood each other would not be established. Besides, just because they had a good talking time in the cinema, Bob misunderstood that, which caused the tragedy happened. Therefore, cinema is an indispensable factor.

The greasers' hair was the stuff that they were proud of, and they never allows people to touch their hair. However, in case of being arrested by the cops， they made a compromise, which means they not only have their hair cut but also have their hair dyed. This indicated their growth, a mental growth.

After Pony reciting the poem in the church, Johnny was inspired by the poem, which courage him to be a nice person. Just because of this, Johnny finally realized that fighting and rumble would make no sense. In this case, Johnny's transform of his personality cannot be without the poem.

Church fire is just like a turning point for the greasers. This is because the greasers' happiness life was not perfect anymore since Johnny 's death. Besides, in the church fire, Johnny, Pony and Dally's brave behavior shows their bravery and kindness to the public, which means there were still some nice greasers. Therefore, this event is significant.

Pony talked to Randy, and they made an agreement. This was the first time that socs and greasers reached an agreement, which is significant. In addition, after their talking, both of them changed their attitude towards each other, and even the talking changed their perspective towards social class, equity and value.

Johnny told Pony to buy a poem, but sodapop bought the poem finally. I think it is important because Johnny believed that the poem can made Dally become a good man after finishing the poem. If Dally still be a bad man, his life will be in danger, so Johnny hoped that poem can help Dally.

Johnny died in the hospital. Johnny's dead affected Dally so much because they had very deep relationship with each other, but Johnny has died.Dally was so sad and angry, so he robbed the store, at last he was killed by the police.

Pony picked a piece of the glass, and pretended to frighten the people of the socs. This proved that Pony has became a really man, a touch man, not weak anymore after experiencing so many events. This is a very important turning point.
