    Odysseus finds himself at Ithaca after his 20-year journey. Though he does not realize he is home. He tricks everybody as an old man so he can sneak into his house with the evil suitors being unaware of who he is. The suitors have grown angry, so Penelope holds an archery contest with the winner receiving her hand in marriage. Odysseus as the old man wins the contest and reveals himself. He kills the suitors and embraces Penelope. Here the Odyssey ends.

    Penelope is sad about Odysseus and the suitors will not leave her house she doesn't yet know I the old man is Odysseus and it matches up pretty well but for now, she still thinks he is dead in his long journey. for Penelope right in marriage, they have to do an athletic archery contest with the prize being her husband. This shows Odysseus gains something because later he is going to kill all the suitors and get his wife back.

Odysseus loses and instead of gains because when his men ate the cattle the gods got mad and made his journey even longer.

But what Odysseus did to avoid the siren's power to sing Odysseus had plugged his men's ears beeswax kneaded soft and ordered them to tie him to the mast of the ship, Odysseus learns to protect his men and be a better leader.

Odysseus gains information from circle to be nicer and stop being greedy.

The only rule was it should never be opened, but the long exhausting trip made Odysseus fall asleep, his greedy and treacherous shipmates looking for treasures untied the bag and released the air which forced them all back to Aeolus' island a second time, but now he refused to help.

Odysseus and twelve men decide to investigate the Cyclop and wait in the Cyclops's cave while the Cyclops tend to his sheep. The Cyclops, Polyphemus, who is Poseidon's son comes back and eats some of the men and traps the rest in his cave. Odysseus blinds Polyphemus, and the survivors reboard the ship and sail away

The lotus causes anyone who eats it to become crazy with it and not want to return home. The men fall victim to the plant and Odysseus forcibly brings them back to the ship. The crew sets sail again.

They would rather live in the land of the Lotus-Eaters than return home.
