    During this time the weather was vey good. this weather allowed for better farming condition. These conditions led to the increase in food production
  • Jethro Tull's Seed Drill

    Jethro Tull invented the seed drill in 1701. He learned about a agriculture as he traveled accross europe. Tull inherited land in england where he practiced his study of agriculture. Tull's seed drillsowed the seeds in perfect lines and covered them. Tull's first prototype was created out of the foot pedals of his church's organ.
  • Four Year Crop Rotation

    This idea of crop rotation was introduced by Charles Townshend. this practice used turnips and clovers in it. What the rotation did was it rotated the four different crops every year. So in one year it could be on field one barly, field two clovers, filed three wheat, and on field four turnips. In year two it then would be on field one turnips, field two barly, field three clovers, and filed four would be wheat.
  • Rotherham Plough

    The Rotherham Plough was the first iron plough to be commericially sold in Europe, mixing the early design made by the Dutch with many new innovations. Its fittings and coulter were made of iron and the mouldboard and share were covered with an iron plate making it a lot more lighter which made it easier to pull.
  • Selective Breeding

    Robert Bakewell's Selective Breeding was to keep both male and the females of a species separtly from each other. He then only allowed breeding deliberatly and specifically. By inbreeding his livestock he fixed and exaggerated the trats that bakewell thought were desireable. he first started with the licolnshire breed of sheep. using selective breeding he created the leicester breed of sheep whcih were different in that the were delicatly boned and had a nice fleece.
  • Enclosure Act

    The Enclosure Act of 1733 was one of many different enclosure acts that occured during that time period. the purpose of the act was to divide the mixed strips of the large fields into smaller blocks of land, in this way we were given our present field pattern.
  • Jethro Tull's Seed Plow Improved

    Tull's drill is improved by adding gears to the rotary mechanism.
  • Textile Industries

    The Agricultural Revolution was the impact that lead to the development of textile industries. The result of the Agricultural revolution lead to a rise in population because of food production which lead to the rise in the textile industry because there was a greater need for clothing.
  • Mass Production

    Mass Production is very related to the textile industries. The textile industries were used to created these new inventions at a fast rate to ensure a surplus in goods. Mass Production was needed because the textile industry needed more machines to produce more clothing because of the rise in population from the agricultural revolution.
  • Population Increase

    During the Agricultural Revolution, a sudden rise in population started to occur. This happened because of new developments in farming technology led to a food surplus which gave everyone food to live.
