    The Reform Act of 1832 redistrubuted seats in the house of commons, enlarged the electorate, and kept property requirement for voting. The chartist Movement failed.

    Queen Victoria Ascends to the Throne
    In 1837, Queen Victoria begins her reign over Britain.
  • Irish Potato Famine

    Irish Potato Famine
    The Irish potato famine began in 1845. 3/4 of all crops were shipped out to England, causing the food left for the Irish to be very minimal. Other unaffected crops were also shipped out during the famine. This left great bitterness toward England.

    Parlaiment passed a second reform act in 1867. This granted all working men the right to vote and doubled the size of the electorate.
