    India was becoming weak and Britain saw this as an opportunity to gain more land and power. India could not fight against British because of its strong ammunition and technologies this gave British a huge advantage. They soon took over India this was early on carried out by the East India Company which soon became embroiled in Indian politics.

    British was in high demand of tea and started trading with China. China was in little demand for British products and decided to trade opium instead of other European goods.
  • Ireland

    Ireland
    Ireland soon is taken over by the British. Irish hate British rule for they are unfair and have power to easily evict Irish farmers.Though they try to industrialize Ireland it deeply hurts Ireland's agriculture which later leads to the Potato Famine.

    The traded opium became highly addictive and the majority of China was addicted. They soon cut ties with British to try and eliminate the problem. opium still was shipped to China by British through the Black Market. Britain was not willing to give up trade, which soon led to war between the two countries .

    many reasons caused the Crimean War but it was a mainly because The Czar Nicholas 1 wanted to extend Russia's territory and he saw a opportunity when the Ottoman Empire began to weaken.

    The Sepoy soldiers that worked for British soon rebelled. The once divided Hindus and Muslims both had something in common. British used and ate both pig and cows. Pigs where not clean meat in the Muslim culture and cows where considered sacred in Hinduism. With British having no respect of r their workers and Indias culture they ate both animals and Indians started to get offended and rebelled, this ended the 100 years of company rule.

    The Berlin Conference was a meeting of Europes nations who all competed for territory in Africa. They where to claim and divide up Africa to conquer and claim. Leaders meet in Berlin to discuss no African leaders invited so they had no say in any of this.

    Australia was granted self rule to commonwealth of Australia. Before settlers arrived it was simply an island for prisoners and debters. Once rumors of gold and other precious things where seen on the island many settlers immigrated to Australia.

    Japan sees the results of China and they want to avoid trade and interaction between other countries at all cost. They quickly rise to power after multiple victories against the mighty Russians in the Russo-Japanese War and completely demolish Russian navy ships.

    Boers fought and resisted greatly against British rule but because of settlement many diseases had been over by the British that soon would kill millions of Africans. Eventually in 1908 the Belgian government gave in and let them take control of the Congo.
  • Suez Canal

    British try to take control of Egypt so they can also take control of the Suez Canal. The Suez Canal was 101 miles long and was a passageway between the Mediterranean and Red Sea. They wanted control of this Canal so they could gain control over the merchant ships and imported goods that would soon pass through.By 1954 Egypt agreed to giving the British the canal.
