    The National Party was formed under the leadership of JBM Hertzog.

    Revolt of the Government

    Labor Disputes leads to Rand revolt of White mine workers which then led to Smuts government ended swiftly with armed forces
  • Power changes

    SAP was removed from power, with JBM Hertzog replacing Smuts as Prime Minister. This would extend systematic discrimination and renamed it civilized labor.
  • The Great Depression impact

    The Great Depression led to countries abandon the gold standard. Hertzog and smuts formed a new party called United Party. This led Malan separating and creating his own party called the Purified National Party and Hertzog left the United Party and joined the GNP. Pro Nazi parties heightened political climates.

    ANC and communist party of South Africa were prominent in the organization in strikes and other protests , and were increasingly competent and vocal in demanding an end to the end of racial discrimination
