Programmable Digital Computer (ENIAC)
The seeds of modern AI were planted by John Mauchly who attempted to describe the process of human thinking as the mechanical use of symbols according to logical rules. He was in the army and built the first Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer. This was specifically designed for computing values for artillery range tables, so it was not fully useful for a traditional computer.

MIT AI Lab
John McCarthy and Marvin Minsky founded the MIT AI Lab. This was apart of research apart of Research Library for Electronics. They each had graduated from Princeton. At this lab, new technologies for computers were developed. -
Recommendation Technology
This year, Tivo popularizes recommendation technology based on tracking people's web activity and what and how they use media. A recommender system, or a recommendation system, is a subclass of information filtering system that seeks to predict the preference a user would give to an item. -
Self Driving Truck
This year, artificial intelligence is proposed to have self-driving trucks that actually drive safer and more effectively then humans. These are not trucks that someone will drive to go hunting, but actual semi trucks will be self-driving. Currently, there is a shortage of truck drivers so this will offset that need. -
Genetically Edit Embryos
In the next one hundred years, the ability for parent to one day be able to actually choose certain traits for their children is becoming available. Scientists are already working on different ways to do so, because of this, the human race could become.significantly similar.
