The Woodbury Soap Company became the first to use images of sexual contact to sell a product. This 1916 image shows a man touching a woman and the slogan ''A skin you love to touch''. -

During WWII they used big colorful posters to advertised for war bonds and for people to branch out into factory jobs especially women. -
1950 - T.V. Commercials
They were big in the 1950's and they had sponsors. -
1970s - More TV Commercials
Advertising in the 1970's started getting more popular because color was introduced. More ads were shown since they were more people watching T.V. -
2000 - Internet
The 2000's to current advertising is internet based and there are several types such as display ads, social media ads, search engine marketing, video ads, and email marketing.
