proclamtion act
The proclimation act was known as the act that restrainted of all the western territory. Which was between Florida, Mississipi, river Quebec, and Allegheny Mountains. This was for the use of the Native Americans. The crown then tried to claim that land the 13 colonies, and keep the expansion from happening. The colonist felt like this was a disregard. To them it felt like disrespect because they werent able to use the western lands or settle there. -
sugar act
The sugar act caused the British warships in the American waters to get smugglers to or those who were warrants for them to authorize the Kings officers to get them to inspect premises.
The English merchants felt the stress because of this. they believe it would be a problem when it came to their buiness no matter the size of the payment. -
The Currency act
The Currency Act was enforced to stop billsfrom being issued, and the area seemed to be low on the hard currecny this caused a problem with the colonial economy. It banded cononial paper money. The colonist felt angry about this. They were no longer allowed to print their currency. -
The Stamp act
The Stamp Act was the act that caused any form of paper documents, like phamplets, bills, licenses, leases,newspapers, etc to be stamped as a source of evidance. They would then be taken by the agents who used it as a way to protect the colonies. This act led the merchants to associations. -
The quartering act
The Quartering Act of 1765 forced thd colonied to provide barracks, and provisions to the royal troops. They had to provide them with housing. If the colonist werent able to providr that, The troops had to stay in hotels, local public areas. Not only were they expected to provide them with a place to stay, they needed food, a form of transportation, anything involving needs.The colonist didnt agree with this, and were angry due to the fact that they were being taxed. -
Decleratory act
The Decleracy Act was also imposed on the same day as the Stamp Act. The declaratory act meant they could make the law stating that American colonies could be binded together. It was their form of showing others they also had power and show that they could also tax. In this case the colonist werent upset, they were just trying to prove soemthing, and feel proud. -
Townshend act
The Townshend Act was when the goodes being taxes were know to be legal. The purpose of it was to increase the revenue which would be used as support British army, as well as colonial offcials. Some of the goods were glass, lead, paper, and tea. The colonist felt angry due to the fact that the tax was imposed, it caused boycotting. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Masacre started as a small snowballing fight, and led to a big violent fight. Once a fire was started, and smoke evolved men started to fall dead on the ground. The colonist were going against the taxes, and felt angry. -
Boston Tea party
The Boston Massacre began when colonist became flustered due to the taxed without represenation. Their form of revenge was to threw many chest of tea into a the harbor. The colonist were anger due to the taxes, their reaction led to the intolerable act. -
quartering act
The quartering Act of 1774 was when the local authories were forced to look for a privtae home for those that needed one. The colonist still felt anger. -
The Intolerable acts
The intolerable act was also called the "Coercive" acts. These were new laws that were passed by parliament. This was their way of getting back for the Tea party. The first thing was they closed down the Boston port bill. It would be closed until all the tea was paid for. Most of the town meetings were banded, and they were kept them from seeing or haveing acces to the sea economic disaster. The qaurtering act, and didnt isolate the Massachusetts.Led to continetial congress. -
Quebec acts
This act was known to allow the catholic church to have a "semiesblished status". It also enlarged the boundaries Quebec south had through the Ohio River. Another thing was trial without a jury, and having no list of representives. The Quebec acts became part of the Intolerable acts making colonist angry, and upset due to the new religious freedom, and expansion.
