    Douglas and Lincoln both running for the senetor for IL. They debated between slavery in the west. In this event people discover Lincoln. Lincoln ends up losing.
  • Harper's Ferry

    Harper's Ferry
    When this event took place, John Brown was captured and hung. A group called abolishists were led by Brown. He was captured at Harper's Ferry. They wanted the slaves for a revolt.
  • Election Of 1860

    In the election of of 1850 there were 4 canidates running for president. Lincoln wins with 180 electoral votes. A few weeks later South Carolina secedes.

    This event was located in South Carolina. The conderate fired the first shots. This marked the start of a cruel, bloody war between northern and southern states.

    The second battle was again against the Union and the Conferderates. Towards the end of the battle, the union force were overwhemled and later retreat. The battle of the first and second bull runs were two of the most devise southern victories in the civil war.

    Fort Donelson was a gunboat battle. The confederates battered the union vessles. The batttle was the first major Union battle.

    Battle Of Pea Ridge
    This battle was one of the several major battles on the western frontier. The union forces had nearly removed all of the confederate forces from the south. After this battle the confederates never threatened Missouri again. The union then mostly took over Arknsas.

    During this event the union and the confederate fought over who got the ports in Mississippi. After some sucuss, the confederate forces were driven back to MS by a union army numbering 55,000.

    Union forces hoped to halt the confederate advance through Maryland. The battle lasted two days and ended with 23,000 casualities. The union ducess paved the way for Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation which freed slaves.
