    The Constitution Act of 1982 was a treaty that would stop inapropriate names such as Indians and would recreate new names for aboriginal peoples like FirstNations, Inuit or Metis
  • Kettle and Stony Point

    During a peaceful Kettle and Stony Point protest, one man was shot dead by the OPP while two others were badly harmed. The First Nations peoples claimed that OPP shot first, while the OPP claimed the First Nations peoples shot first. This protest was made because the First NAtions peoples wanted to take back some of their land that the government took from them for military purposes.

    The suprmeme court realized that without aboriginals and their ancestry, Canada would not be how it is today. As a result, rights were made that aboriginals had rights to the land itself. This doesn't just maen the ability to gather, hunt, or fish, it means the land as a whole
  • Grand River Land Dispute

    An industry purchased land from a local farmer in Caledonia who did not have the rights to sell the land that belonged to the Six Nations. the Six Nations seized the project and protested by putting up barricades to block the subdivision off. Many local residents were displeased by one barricade so the residents put up their own barricade to stop the Six Nations from reaching the sub division. This chain of events lead to violence between the residents and the Six Nations peoples.
