    The Decleration of Independence
    The Decleration of Independence was the document that gave freedom to the U.S.A. A group of the nation's most influential people gathered together and created it. This document is important because it gave us freedom and created the U.S.A.

    U.S. Constitution
    The U.S. Constitution was an upgrade to the Articles of Confederation. It gave the people better rights and had more efficient laws. The Constitution was important because without it there would be chaos and nothing would run smoothly.

    Lewis and Clark Expedition

    The Lewis and Clark expedition was when two people named Lewis and Clark went off on a journey to explore the new land West of the Mississippi River. They documented many new species of animals and plants as well as meeting some new Native American tribes. When they returned President Jefferson was happy and it helped convince people to move West. This was important because it expanded our country and they discovered brand new species new to man.

    The California Gold Rush was a major migration of people moving into Claifornia. James W. Marshall found gold in a California River and the news was quickly spread throughout the country. Other individuals wanted to strike it rich and moved out to California. This was an important event because it helped bring people out to the West and due to such a huge population, added California as a state to the U.S.

    The Civil War was the bloodiest American battle ever and many people were lost. It was between the North and the South and basically determined the future of America. This was a very important battle since it determined America's future and it is influential to people now a days to never repeat it.

    The End of the Frontier

    The Frontier was the wild land west of the United States at the time. It was "owned" by Indians and full of unknowns to Americans. The Frontier was wild land with deadly storms, buffalo, predators, sickness, and some agressive Indian tribes. People started moving to it in 1862 at the start of the Homestead Act and in 1890 the U.S. government declared the frontier dead. This is important, because this is how the United States grew.

    The Homestead Act was made by the government that stated anyone who moved out West would be give 160 acres of free land. It sent a whole bunch of people out to the West and towns started up very quickly. This was an important event, because it created a whole bunch of states from the number of people living there, thus growing the size of the United States.

    The Gettysburg Address was one of the most powerful speeches in United States history. It was give by Abraham Lincoln to a group of soldiers at a memorial service in Gettysburg, PA. This speech was so important because it inspired the soldiers and gave them the fire to win the war. It is now remembered as one of the greatest speeches of all time and is held highly by many.

    World War II was a battle mainly due to Adolf Hitler. 50-85 million people died making it the deadliest war ever. This is important because it is very important to our history. It was the deadliest war and needs to be remembered for its signifigance in our history.

    Mt. St. Helens was a volcano is Washington, United States that erupted suddenly. It showered the region in tons of ash and debris. This volcanic eruption is important because it was the largest volcanic eruption in the U.S. since 1915. It destroyed lots of wilderness and made a mess through out Washington.

    I was born at the Women's and Babies Hospital by Park City. My family is my mom, dad, step-dad, sister Katelyn, goldfish Glubby, and my two kittens Timmer and Sylvie. At this time some of my interests include weather, tornadoes, cars, Mustangs, playing the guitar, nature, and fishing.

    Twin Tower Attack or 9/11
    The terrorist attack on 9/11 was an eye opener for many Americans. On 9/11 terrorists hijacked four planes and two of them were flown into the Twin Towers in New York. Many people died and it was a sad day through out the country. This event is important because many people lost their lives that day and they deserve to be remembered.

    Joplin Missouri EF5 Tornado
    On this day, the stongest tornado possibe, an EF5, touched down in Joplin, Missouri. It wiped out 98% of the structures in the town and it's death toll was the largest in years at 158. The town will never be the same. This is important because there hasn't been an EF5 tornado in a decade. It killed a lot of people and is a historical day for many.
