  • Signing of the U.S Constitution

    The Constitution was signed by the Constitutional Convention on this date. This is impotant because this document signing marks the second attempt at a storg government.
  • Patent of Eli Whitney's Cotton Gin

    Eli Whitney's Cotton Gin was patented March 14, 1794. This was a turning point in the Industrial Revoluton. It allowed the plantatons down south to produce and clean more cotton then ever before. This machine also heightened the need for slaves in the south. There was more cotton coming out of the south than ever before, but there were also more slaves in the south than ever before too.
  • Lewis and Clark leave Camp Wood to Begin Their Journey

    Lewis and Clark departed Camp Wood and began their expedition west to explore the Louisiana Purchase.
  • The Battle of Antietam

    This was a particulary bloody battle in Antietam, Maryland. This was a Union "victory" that they used to release the Emancipation Proclamation and further weaken the Confederacy.
  • The Battle of Little Bighorn

    This is also know as Custer's Last Stand becasue this was the infamous battle where Custer dies. He rode into battle severly outnumbered and he and all his men were slaughtered.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act Passed

    This is a law that banned the chinses from immigrating to the United States of America for 61 years. It was appeled in 1943 after China became an important ally against Japan for America.
  • Atomic Bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan

    On this day, America dropped thr first ever Atomic Bomb on the city of Hiroshima, Japan. It killed almost 80,000 beople. Some dies after the inital impact, and somm died of radiation poisioning later. This was a very eye-opening experience to the U.S, because we had never meant to kill that many people. We just wanted a quick end to the war.

    The I Have Dream speech is an iconic speech about injustic, segragation, and human rights. This speech was given by famous civil rights activist, Martin Luther King Jr. This is important for us to remember, because it reminds us of a painful part of our history, of an ink stain on a piece of paper.   • 9/11 Terriorist Attack

    This was a dark time in American history, because thousands of inncoent people were killed that day. Terrorists hijacked our own planes, and used them to kill our own people. They crashed the planes into the World Trade Centers. This is important for us not to forget this date, because we ned to remeber the brave that gave their live, and the innocents who were stolen from us.
