    Trail of Death
In 1838, squaters settle in Pottowatami territroy. Then, fearing revolt from natives, settlers request investigation of the natives living there. Later John Tipton sent squads of soldiers to arrest and transport all natives within a 50 mile radius. Chief Menominee objected to the soldiers and was tied up and taken away. Then all of the natives were forced to follow behind wagons across Indiana. Many of them were baptized by Bishops that accompanied the movement. http://www.timetoast.com/tim
