The Confederate States of America was formed with Jefferson Davis as the president. The Confederacy was almost identical to the union in every way except they allowed slavery.

Gettysburg marked the turning point of the war. The battle had the greatest number of casualties in the entire war. It was the 1st battle fought in Union territory and lasted 3 days. It was a decisive union victory as Lee and his army fled to Virginia.
