  • French Indian War

    French Indian War
    This was the beginning of them wanting separation because the British fought to support the colonist. They did win the war. But after the war was over the British told the colonist that they owed $8 million. The colonist did not like this so they said they would not pay it. So the British raised taxes on just about everything.
  • Stamp act

    Stamp act
    This act replaced the sugar act and what it did was tax all printed goods. This angered the colonist because they were very literate and mostly everyone read. So they were taxing all of the most important things.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This was when the British lower the prices on molasses and sugar but add an indirect tax on sugar. This made the colonist upset because they said that they lowered the price 80 cents but it only went down 20. This was so important because they boycotted it and they did repeal it. So the colonist thought that if they did that they could get it repealed.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    This was when there were British troops in Boston that were armed and the Boston people didn’t like that, so about 200 of them circled 13 British troops and harassed and threw snowballs that had shells in them. They got so bad that they were actually cutting up the faces of the British soldiers with the shells they were throwing. So one guy dropped his gun and it fired and that made them all fire. This killed 5 people. It also made the colonist very mad.
  • Boston Tea Act

    This was when the British made it a law that the colonist could only drink or buy the kings tea. This was a very important thing because tea was drank almost like water back then.
  • Boston Tea Prty

    Boston Tea Prty
    The colonist dressed up as Mohawk Indians and dump out over one million dollars of the kings tea. This angered the king and made him raise the taxes more on things which also made the colonist mad.
  • Lexington & Concord

    Lexington & Concord
    This was when the British troops came to take the ammo and guns out Lexington and Concord MA. The colonist hinted out that they were coming so they moved all the ammo and guns so when the troops hiked all the way there and realized there were none they had to walk back. When they did they got picked off by the colonist and this was the second time there has been killings between the two of them.
