After the portuguese rounded the tip of Africa, Vasco de Gama started to explore the east African Coast. -

Sepoy Rebellion
Rumors spread that the Sepoys cartidges were greased with beef and pork fat. Cows were sacred to Hindus and Muslims didnt eat pork. Due to this only 5 accepted the cartidges while the remaining 85 did not. The sepoys were jailed for there disobdience, which led to a rebellion that resulted in the death of 1000,000 people. -

Amristar Massacre
The Hindus and Muslims with held an public meeting to protest against the Rawlett Acts. The British had banned public meetings, so he told his troops to shoot at them. The massacre killed about 400 Indians and wounded 1,200. As a result Indians became nationalist and demanded independence. -

Gandhi encouraged the INC to follow a policy of noncooperation while the British government. They practiced civil obdience by organizing boycotts, strikes, and demonstrations. -

The Indians wanted to protest against the Salt Acts. So they walked 240 miles to the seacost to make ther own salt. 60,000 people including Ghandi were eventually arrested for this. -
