The Pact.

  • Moving. (George).

At the age of seven George's mother had saved up enough money to move them out of the projects they were living in. They moved to a co-op a block away from the projects on Muhammad Ali Avenue for a better life.
  • Miss Johnson. (George).

I chose my next event to be about George's third grade teacher Miss Johnson. Miss Johnson helped kids stay on the right direction, always encouraging them to do better. She exposed the students to Shakespeare and algebra. I chose Miss Johnson as an event in my timeline because I think she set George in the right direction, always giving him hope.
  • The Inspiration. (George).

The first event I found in George's life was his visit to the dentist. He seemed so interested in the functions of everything the dentist was doing. This sparked a dream he would later accomplish.
  • Sam. (George).

George met Sam in the seventh grade. this relationship would later have a great effect on both of their lives. Sam was the same kid as George, so they had the same interests and I think this an important event.
  • The Start. (George).

An oppurtunity was given to George at University High. A speaker from Seton Hall College visitied their school and spoke about the Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Plus program. George decided to take it and bring his friends for the ride as well. This is the start of the pact.
  • Seton Hall. (George).

George was accepted into Seton Hall College along with Sam and Rameck. This is the second most important event in their goal to become doctors.
  • Rap. (George).

George, Rameck, and Sam descovered a new talent, they could rap. This was a big distraction from their goals to become doctors 'cause the rap phase took so much time and money that could've been spent on school.
