    HenryIn 1511, Pope Julius II proclaimed a Holy League against France. This new alliance rapidly grew to include not only Spain and the Holy Roman Empire, but England as well. Henry decide to use the occasion to expand his holdings in northern France. He concluded the Treaty of Westminster, a pledge of mutual aid with Spain against France in November 11 and also prepared for involvement in the war of of the League of Cambrai.

His Brother-in-law, James IV of Scotland, invaded EnglandBehest of Louis XII of France but failed to draw Henry's attantion away from France. The Scots were Defeated at the Battle of Flodden Fields on September 9, 1513.

    In 1516, Henry and his Wife, Catherine of Aragon, had a child named Mary(who after Henry's death) became Queen and Restored The english church to the pope. She was known as Bloody Mary for Executing Many Protestants. Died in 1558.

    In 1521, Henry wrote a stringing attack on Luther's ideas. In recognition of Henry's support, the pope gave him the title "Defender of the Faith"

    In 1527, Henry was convinced that Catherine would not have any more Children. He wanted to Divorce her and take a younger Queen. Church Laws didn't allow divorce back then. Then Henry Took steps to solve his marriage problem.

    In 1529, Henry called the Parliament into session and asked it to pass a set of laws that ended the pope's power in England. The Parliament is known as the Reformatio Parliament.

    In 1533, Henry secretly Married Anne Boleyn,(Who was in her Twenties). Shorlty after, Parliament Legalized Henry's Divorce from Catherine. After Anne Boleyn gave Birth to a Daughter, Elizabeth, she fell out of Henry's favor. Soon she was charged with treason. She was imprisoned in the Tower of London. She was found giulty and beheaded in 1536.

    Henry Married Jane Seymour. In 1537, they FINALLY had a son named Edward. Edward, However was an ill boy and Jane Seymour died just two weeks later. He became king at the age of 9 and ruled for 6 years. Then he died of poor health.

    In 1543, Henry married his last wife, the Wealthy widow Catherine Parr. They sometimes argueed over Religion but they both lived together without having anymore Children. Catherine out lived Henry. Henry died at January 28, 1547 at the Palace of Whitehall.
