    Vasco De Gama Sails for India
    Vasco De Gama was a potrugese explorer, and in 1497 he started to explore the east coast of Africa. Once De Gama reached the port of Calcut he was shocked at the spices and rare silks that were found there. Also the cargo was worth 60 times the cost of the voyage.
