    Starting in the late 1400's, Europeans from France, Spain, the Netherlands, and other countries began traveling to the Americas. During the time of the late 1500's England also found claiming lands and created colonies. In 1607, England created Jamestown, VA. In 1620, settlers endowed Plymouth, MA. Frequently the settlers and local Indians became friends. This is important to the U.S. because we needed people for jobs, because they brought different skills. Also they brought with them craftsmen.

This is important to the U.S. because more people from other areas could come join the U.S.
