    i do not know what i love the most but i know what i love a lot, such as chocolate, music, adventure, and love itself. There is a saying that the greatest gift is love. love is all we need. if that was true why is there so much hate in the world. we feel the hate all the time and all the places we go. how can such traveling lead to hate. traveling brings joy to all who do it and are looking to meet new experiences. experiences enrich life, just as chocolate, music, adventure, and love do.

    Battle of Fort sumter
    April 12, 1861- April 14, 1861. Battle of Fort sumter in Charleston, South Carolina. It was a easy win for the Confedercy. 11 casualties for the U.S. and 4 casualties for the confedercy. Major Robert Anderson (U.S.) and General Pierre G.T. Beauregard (confederacy). Major Robert Anderson surrenderd and on April 14, U.S. troops withdrew from the Fort. Four states left the Union after this battle.

    The battle took place on July 21, 1861 in Prince William County, Virginia. The Union attacked first on July 17th which forced an attack from the confederates. The confederates were to cross Bull Run at daylight on July 21st but the message did not get acroos to General Ewell so the Union attacked from the south, General Johnston sent General T. J. Jackson to support the troops at Stone Bridge.

    The battle of Fort Donelson was won by the union, it took place in northweatern tennese. Grant became a hero in the north because he defeated the confederates and captured Fort donelson. it was difficult for the union to win the war because alot of their soldiers w=had casualties

    Stonewall Jackson was in Virgnia's Shenandah Valley to make sure the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains stayed in the Confederacy. Stonewall's valley campaign was highly liked by the military, and with him loosing a lot of people against Banks in the war he still came out with the win.

    In Portsmouth,Virginia sunk 2 ships and the USS monitor sunk. They gained new weapons which lasted without the war. John Ericsson designed the ships. The CSS Virginia forced to withdraw. There was no real victor because both ships were forced to withdraw.

    U.S.S Monitor vs C.S.S Virginia(Merrimack)
    The Merrimack led by Lt. Catesby Jones chopped through 5 union ships In Hampton Roads Virginia on March 8 1862. It returned on the 9th and was met by the Monitor led by Lt. John Worden. The ships fired back and forth for hours resulting in a draw. It was the first battle where the ships were steam powered. Both ships being "ironclad" was important because it represented a "revolution in naval warfare" as the shells of both ships were useless against the other. The ships never met again.

    The Battle of Shiloh began April 6, 1862 in Pittsburg near the Tennessee River. General Grant was in charge of the Union army and General Johnston was in charge of the Confederate army. The Confederates tried a surprise attack but because of the strength of the Union the Confederates retreated. There were many casualties on both sides but the Union won.

    The Antietam War left a large impact on the Civil War because on the day of September 17th, 1862 that was the BLOODIEST day of the Civil War. In Sharpsburg, Maryland the Union had an easy win against the Confederacy.

    The battle of Gettysburg took place im Southern Pennsylvania.General George Pickett of the Confederate army went and charged at the Unions hill. The Conderacy lost the battle and General George Lee the head general of the conderacy retreated the next day. This was a turning point in the war. The union won. The win was difficult because the union was out numbered.

    Major general Ulysses s. Grant announced a campaign targeted at Vicksburg. He ordered 40,000 men to march south across Mississippi with the intent to draw in confederate troops to north Mississippi. 32,000 northern soilders attempted to capture Vicksburg. They were unsuccessful in their attempts to capture Vicksburg and control the mississipi river.

    The Battle of Fort Wagner happend on July 18th 1863, at Charston Hador in South Corlina. The Union had 5,679 soldiers and the Confederacy had 1,785 soldiers. The Union had 1515 casulties and the confedery had 174. Unfortunatley the confederacy won. Black troops were alowed to fight in this war with the whites. They also played an important role in the battle.

    Shermans March was a deadly battle which caused an estimate of about 100 million dollars.About 67,000 casualties. This last battle took the last bit of hope away from the Confederacy as the Union had won this battle. It was an overall tough battle for Both sides but the union came up a hardly fought win. The battle took place in Atlanta, Georgia. It was a hard win. General William Tecumseh Sherman and General Grant led this war. It was a fairly long battle that majorly impacted the war.

    The Battle of Appomattox Courthouse was a battle that took place in Virginia on April 9, 1865. The Union won this battle easily because the Confederacy surrendered. Important people in this battle were the generals from both sides, Robert E. Lee (Confederate) and Ulysses S. Grant (Union). The surrender came after a series of battles between Grant and Lee, and Lee realized he couldn't win, and surrendered to Grant and the Union forces. This is considered the end of the Civil War.
