    The Bill of Rights was and still is the first ten amendemts of the United States. There are obviously more rights than the main Bill of Rights. Thanks to James Madison and his efforts the Bill of rights is officaly apart of the Constitution.

  • Louisiana Purchase

    Louisiana Purchase
    In 1803 the United States bought 828,000,000 square miles of territory from France. This made the U.S. double the size of there population. Before the land was sold the land went back and fort between France and Spain but France ended up getting the land and selling it to America.
  • Begining of Lewis and Clark

    Begining of Lewis and Clark
    In 1804 Lewis and CLark went on a journey through uncharted parts of America. They had no idea what was going to happen, they did didn't know how logn it would take or even what they would encounter. Lewis and Clark met alot if tribes on their journey.
  • End of Lewis and Clark Expedition

    End of Lewis and Clark Expedition
    Lewis and Clark's journey ended in 1806. This journey crossed 8,000 miles o fland, and took three years. As they traveled almost every plac ethey went, there was a warm welcome. After the journey ended Lewis was named govener of the Louisiana Territory.

    Indian Removal Act
    The Indian Removal Act was a law authorized during the time when Andrew Jackson wass the presidant. This law authorized the presidant to to negotiate with Indian tribes in the Southern United States for their removal to federal territory west of the Mississippi River in exchange for their ancestral homelands. The Indians were not happy about thsi law, they thought that it was unfair and cruel.

    Trail of Tears
    As part of Andrew Jackson's law, the Indian Removal Act, the Cherokee were forced to give up their land and move to what is now Oklahoma. The Cherokee were extremely mad and sad, they had no control over this act. It was such a terriable, tragic journey that they called it "The Trail of Tears".

    End of Trail of Tears
    The Trail of Tears ended in Oklahoma 1839. Cherokee's who died during this journey were not known to be buried during this journey or at the end of this journey. This was a very tragicand sad time for indians.
  • Mexican - American War

    The Mexican-American War marked the first U.S. conflict on foreign soil.The U.S. wanted to expand across the continent to the Pacific Ocean. The first battle took place along the Rio Grande, ending with a sequence of U.S. victories.

    End of The Mexican-American War
    The Mexican-American War ended on February 2,1848. At the end of this war the mexicans/Mexico lost about one-third of its territory. The territory that they had lost included what is present- day California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico.

    Transcontinental Railroad/Completion
    The Transcontinental Railroad was completed May 10,1869. This railroad was built to connect the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.There were many opinions on this new development, some people loved the idea and some people hated it. Some people hated it because it would be built on their land, and then they would either move or stay with a railroad in front of their house.
