Scott and Rob stranded because of a snow storm. The snow storm can come on suddenly without warrning. They needed to save their energy but still stay warm which is a dificult thing to do.Rob Hall calls his wife and says-"Sleep well my love, don't worry to much".
  • May 12-13 Eight confirmed dead on Everest

The cold was to much for the team and eight died. They ran out of food and water. Most of the team probably died from hipothermia and not from starvation. They most likely ran out of warmth before food.
  • Fischer buried above South Col as the team regroups.

To carry a body all the way down the mountain is hard so they buried him abouve south col so they could save time and energy. Excpecally because they didn't have sled or something to carry him in.Fischer probably would rather be buried on the mountain anyway so they did what he wanted.
