    the sandcreek massacre was one of the most infamous incidents of the indian wars. Colorado Territory attacked and destroyed the village of Cheyenne.133 Cheyenne and Arapaho men, women, and children were killed at Sand Creek.
  • Fetterman Massacre

    Fetterman Massacre
    troops were manning a fort on the Bozeman Trai.Crazy horse,a sioux indian lead the troops into a deadly trap.He also tricked the fort's commander into sending a detachment of about 80 soldiers in pursuit. Hundreds of warriors were waiting in ambush and wiped out the entire detachment.
  • Treaty of Fort Laramie

    Treaty of Fort Laramie
    This treaty brought peace between the whites and the Sioux. The Sioux agreed to settle in the Blackhills reservation in the dakota territory. It also gave further hunting rights in South dakota, Wyoming, and Montana.

    It took place in the Black hills. The government has promised that no white people where aloud to pass through the hills. The Black hills were rumored to have gold. George Custer led an army up to the hills to see if the rumor was true.

    The war was between the Sioux indiands and the US. The government then tried to buy the black hills from the indiands. The indians said no which lead to another war. George Custer gathered about 250 soldiers to attack the Sioux indiands at the little bighorn river. the soldiers all died and the indiands were sent to live on resevations.

    The ghost dance was a dance to express the indians culture that was being destroyed. Reservation officials eventually banned the dance because they believed that Sitting Bull,the cheif was the one who started the dance. Police went to the camp to arrest him. They ended up shooting sitting bull because of a scuffle.

    This battle was against the Lakota Sioux and the american soldiers. The indians were at the creek called wounded knee in South dakota. The americans went to collect the Lakota sioux's weapons,no one knows how the fight actually started the indiands left a pistol shot and the americans started to fire.Over 200 Sioux died and over 25 soilders died.
