In this story, God wants Abraham to prove His faithfulness and His trust in His plans. But at the same time, God is also proving that He will always fulfill His promises. God is true to His word, which is why He spares Isaac with a lamb. After all, Isaac is the son that God has said would be the start of a great nation. If he were die, how would God keep His promise? God is also foreshadowing the coming of Jesus, where He will be the substitution lamb for us and sacrifice Himself.

Genesis 27:22
Jacob went close to his father Isaac, who touched him and said, “The voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau.” Jacob is like Christ. He is righteous but became similar to Esau, carrying Esau's sins and weaknesses. He put on the clothes of Esau, the animal skin around his body, to come to his father and find acceptance from him. -

Cyrus the Great of Persia conquered Phoenicia and divided it into four vassal kingdoms. They prospered, furnishing fleets for the Persian kings. Phoenician influence declined after this. It is likely that much of the Phoenician population migrated to Carthage and other colonies following the Persian conquest. https://www.timemaps.com/civilizations/phoenicians/

Isaiah 53:4-6
Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
...
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all. Jesus carried our sins on his back although He is righteous and sinless like how Jacob put on the form and person of his brother Esau. Christ still has the voice of the Son while His hands are ours as He carries our nature. He put on our clothes on His body and became similar to us, bearing our sins on His body and offering Himself in love. -

Genesis 12:2
"And I will make of you a great nation" Genesis 12:1
"Go from your country to the land that I will show you" Abraham's lineage did become a huge nation. Isaac became the start of the Israelites and Ishmael became the start of the Arabs. After all, Christianity and Islam are the biggest religion groups in the world today. The land known as Canaan that was promised to Abraham's family still belongs to the Israelites now. -
Genesis 25:23
“Two nations are in your womb,
and two peoples from within you will be separated;
one people will be stronger than the other,
and the older will serve the younger.” Even though this isn't meant to affect me, this also shows how nowadays, there will always be mistrust and bad relationships between different people. There are always comparisons between my sister and I and even in the best moments, it isn't a perfect relationship. There will always be a separation.
