This relates to the war because the two countries he has lived on are at war together against Iraq.

This could relate to the book Stardust because in the book a village boy goes into a magical realm and in 1991 the "World Wide Web" was a new and different to them and could seem like they too were entering their own “magical realm.

    The World Trade Center in New York City was attacked by Muslim fundamentalists. They bombed the building which killed five people and trapped tens of thousands workers in the tower. Later in March the four men responsible for this explosion were convicted and sentenced to 240 years. This relates to Stardust because it a fictional story to help people escape from the negative things going on in the real world.

This relates to Stardust because the ships are going to a new country like when the boy in Stardust enter a magical realm to find the shooting star.

    Jupiter was struck by a comet with twenty-one huge fragments during the course of six days. This created a mile high fireballs that then left black bruises in the planets clouds. This is related to the shooting star that fell onto Earth in a magical realm in the book Stardust.

While Scientists were looking at the star Pegasi-51 they revealed the star was wobbling meaning it has planets. The star is 15 light-years away from out sun. Scientists were shocked to find out gas giants could orbit stars at such a close range. This is similar to Stardust because the man followed a shooting star into a magical realm and discovers the star is actually a women.

    Flight 800 that was coming from New York falls from the sky and crashes to the ground. Unfortunately, the plane crash killed all of the passengers aboard. This is similar to the book Stardust because it is about a shooting star that falls from the sky. The shooting star and the plane both from the sky and crash.

    In October on the Mars bound space probes, the Climate Orbiter, was lost when the scientists forgot to convert between English units and the Metric system. Stardust could relate to this because a man chases a fallen star that is lost, like the when scientist tried to find the Mars space probe to get it to work again.
