The United States invaded Panama in order to overthrow the dictator Manuel Noriega. Manuel Noriega was charged in the United States for drug trafficking and suppressing the Democracy in Panama. On December 20th, 1989, 9,000 U.S. troops joined the 12,000 personal already stationed in Panama, and they invaded. By December 24th, the PDF was defeated, and Manuel Noriega was arrested by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency agents.

In Los Angeles 4 police were caught beating an African American who was under arrest, although he had done nothing wrong. Soon after in LA the people turned to rioting, looting stores and blocking highways. On March 3rd, 1991, Rodney King led a police chase. When the police caught him, he was beaten until he was incapable of any resistance. This led to many debates over police brutality.

Clinton signed this agreement in attempt to encourage other nations to work toward a larger world-trade pact. NAFTA eliminated all tariffs and trade restrictions between the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. NAFTA was one of president Clinton's first successes as a democratic president. The reform party who believed that this would suck the resources of American companies dry.

The O.J. Simpson Trial was the trail of football player O.J. SImpson who was accused of killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. After being caught, O.J. pleaded not guilty with a "dream team" team of judges. O.J. Simpson was declared not guilty. The public opinion was another effect of this case. Whites believed he should be guilty while blacks agree with the court decision.

The Whitewater affair began with the investigation of 11 people involved in a real estate deal in Arkansas. This real estate was making these people tons of money in a suspicious amount of time. Starr was the lead investigator of the deal. The case lead to the firing of many long term Whitehouse workers. This process was known as travelgate.

After Kaczynski's career as as a teacher his career was abruptly ended and he moved to Canada and lived as a hermit. Kaczynski began writing philosophical papers. All of them getting denied, he was prompted to create his first bomb. Kaczynski sent his bombs in packages specifically to universities and other large institutions. Kaczynski demanded to the New York times that his "Unabomber’s Manifesto" be published and he will stop kiling. Kaczynski's brother turned him in and he was arrested.

Minutes after Boeing 747 took off it exploded over the Mid Atlantic. The plane took off and was heading to France, killing 230 people. At first it was speculated to be a terrorist attack. Although the true cause of the crash is unknown many believe that it was because of an engine failure. This explosion remains to be one of the biggest plane crashes in history.

The bombing occurred during a free concert in Centennial Olympic Park, Atlanta. The bomb killed a mother and injured 100 others. An anonymous called had informed police of the bomb, but the bomb exploded before the caller said it would. The bombing continued outside of two other abortion clinics and a club for lgbtq memebrs. The bombing were eventually tracked to Eric Robert Rudolph, and he was sentenced to 4 consecutive lives in prison.

NATO airstrikes Yugoslavia after they started their ethnic cleanse on the Kosovar Albanian people. There were building tension between the Serbians and the Kosovar Albanians for much time. The bomb launched by NATO was directed at Serbian government buildings in attempt to destabilize their regime. NATO helped many refugees escape. The bombardment ended with a peace agreement between the U.S. and Serbia to remove Serb forces from Kosovo and replace them with NATO peacekeeping troops.

On April 20th, 1999, two teens at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, went on a shoot spree killing 13 students and wounding 20 others. They had also planted bombs in the school, and if they had gone of the attack could have been much deadlier. After they finished the attack they both committed suicide. The school shooting at Columbine High School was the biggest school shooting at the time and triggered a debate on gun control and school safety.
