    Americans With Disabilities Act
    The ADA created the idea to demolish descrimination agaisnt the disabled. It ensures the disabled with fair hiring processes, certain accomadations on work sites, etc.. The ADA also allows the disabled to keep their medical information confidential. This allows for people with disabilities to be treated fairly within a work place and have equal opportunity to succeed.
  • Comfirmation of Clarence Thomas

    Comfirmation of Clarence Thomas
    Clarence Thomas was nominated to be in the Supreme court in the early 90's. He was nominated by George H. W Bush, the president, after Thurgood Marshall retired. However, while he was being nominated there were alligations that he sexual harassed Anita Hill. Thomas ended up winning majorities vote by 52 to 48 proving his innocence.
  • Magic Johnson HIV

    Magic Johnson HIV
    Magic Johnson is a famous basketball player, as he was one of the best guards to ever touch the court. In the early 90's he revealed that he was retiring from the game because he was HIV positive. He learned he was positive during an anual check up for insurance purposes. Magic's announcment was a supprise to the community and struck everyone with awareness of the virus. People then learned how it could be recieved and the difference between HIV and AIDS.

    Hurricane Andrew
    This hurricane hit a span of places varrying from the Bahama's, Louisiana, and Florida. It caused havok with winds up to 165 mph classifying it as a category 5 for its strength. It was so powerful that it killed 65 people and caused over $26.5 billion. Hurricane Andrews is considered to be the most destructive hurricane in US history because it is known as the fifth most costly tropical cyclone.

    US Soldiers in Somolia
    The US soldiers were involved in Somolia for one day. This period was known as the Battle of Mogadishu. The US was fighting Somali militiamen as they tried to rescue 2 of the military's lieutenants. The mission ended up being successful although it did cost both sides many men.

    The NAFTA is a agreement signed between Canda, the United States, and Mexico. The agreement created a huge zone for free trade. Ideally this would generate stable economies, increase wealth, and hopefully help out all people's in the region. NAFTA has tried to make this possible by basically getting rid of all the tariffs betweent the three countries.

    OJ Simpson Trial
    People of the State of California vs Orenthal James Simpson who was tried on two accounts of murder. Simpson was accussed of murdering his ex-wife along with Ronald Lyle Goldman. After a rigorous trial Simpson was found not guilty. Most likely due to the testimony by Alan Park, who confirmed Simpson's vehicle was not seen at the murder sites.
  • Olympic Park Bombing

    Olympic Park Bombing
    The bombing in Atlanta Georgia injured 111 civilians and took 2 others lives. Thanks to Richard Jewell, a security guard who noticed the bomb, no others were hurt or killed. It wasn't until after 3 other bombings that the murderer was found and sentenced to life in prison. That man, Eric Rudolph wanted to cance wreak so much havok that the Olympics would be cancelled. He wanted to do this because of the government's "sanctioning of abortion on demand".
  • NATO bombing of Yugoslavia

    NATO bombing of Yugoslavia
    Between March 24th and June 10th, NATO terrorized Yugoslavia through bombings. NATO took this action to restore human rights to the people of Kosovo. The bombings eventually led to the withdrawal of Yugoslav troops and forces allowing the UN to create an estblishment in Kosovo to protect the people. NATO was effective in their actions and succeeded in their mission to stop oppression in the area.
  • Columbine Shooting

    Columbine Shooting
    The Columbine school shooting occurred in Jefferson county of Colorado. The two perpetraors, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, killed 12 high school students and one teacher while injuring 21 other people. The two of them had planned this attack very thoroughly as they wanted to do as much damage as the Oklahoma City Bombing. After they did their damage in the school they attempted to flee the scene, but decided to commit suicide instead
