While he was in office, he lowered taxes and negotiated with the Soviet Union to elnminate intermediary long range nuclear weapons. Many people liked him as president.

    Cabbage Patch Kids
    In the Chirstmas Season of 1983, Cabbage Patch Kids were flying off the shelves. Every Cabbage Patch Kid was unique. They had different head shapes, color of hair, and they even had their own birth certificate. By the end of the year many kids had a Cabbage Patch Doll.

It was very tragic, because the explosion was avoidable. People had spoken up before the tragedy about problems with the O-rings at low outside temperatures.
