Ronald Reagan was president of the United States of America from 1981 to 1989. He was elected for two terms. In his 1st term he was shot, but survived. While he was in office, he lowered taxes and negotiated with the Soviet Union to elnminate intermediary long range nuclear weapons. Many people liked him as president. -

In the Chirstmas Season of 1983, Cabbage Patch Kids were flying off the shelves. Every Cabbage Patch Kid was unique. They had different head shapes, color of hair, and they even had their own birth certificate. By the end of the year many kids had a Cabbage Patch Doll. -
Discovery of the Titanic Shipwreck
It wasn't until September 1, 1985 that the Titanic was found by Dr. Robert Ballard. When it sunk, the public was shocked and amazed. The finding of the ship gave new dreams to oceanograhers for finding other sunken ships. -
Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster
Around 11:38 a.m. on January 28, 1986, the "Challenger" launched from Cape Canaveral. A few seconds after the lift off, the space shuttle exploded. All the crew members died. It was very tragic, because the explosion was avoidable. People had spoken up before the tragedy about problems with the O-rings at low outside temperatures. -
Fall of the Berlin Wall
The evening of November 9, 1989 Gunter Schabowski said that the border to the West was open. The people who heard what was happening were shocked, so they went out to see if it was ture. When people got there they started to flee to the West. The Berlin Wall had fallen.
