The largest and destructive eruption by a volcano in US history. The eruption killed 57 people by the end of its cycle. Thousands of pounds of smoke and ash filled the atmosphere causing people to have trouble breathing. -

During lift off, the space shuttle Challenger exploded. Everyone on board the Challenger died. -

Fox News was created by Rupert Murdoch, an Australian-American who sought out to reach American cables. He hired Roger Ailes to host and it reached 17 million cable subscribers. -
Columbine Shooting
The shooting spree that killed 15 people at Columbine High School in Colorado, was started by two teens. Not only shooting, but the teens had also set up the school before hand where multiple pipe bombs were set to go off. -
The 9/11 Attacks
Multiple attacks happened on this day made by the terrorist group Al-Qaeda. Both towers in New York City were hit by commercial planes. They burned and fell to the ground killing 2,606 people in and around the site. Another attack happened at Pentagon, leading with a plane crashing into the side of it as well. 125 people were killed. Flight 93 was a plane that got hijacked after take off. The passengers took control and it crashed killing all on board.
