    The Soviet Union created and detonated an atomic bomb only four years after America which caused an arms race between the two countries. Both the Soviet Union and America later recognized that having a nuclear war would have the same devastating results for both countries leading them to not use them.

    Queen Elizabeth II takes the British throne after George VI dies in 1952.
  • JFK Assassination

    President John F. Kennedy was shot at killed during a rally in which he was in the back of a car.
  • Present-day flag adopted in Canada

    The Present-day flag was adopted in Canada after much debate on what the flag should be.
  • Concorde Maiden Flight

    The Concorde is the first and only as of today (2022) French/British to commercially fly supersonic trans-Atlantic.
  • Voting age in Canada has lowered

    The voting age in Canada is lowered from 21 to 18 bringing 2 million more Canadian voters into the election.
  • Terry Fox begins his run for cancer research

    Canadian Terry Fox begins his run for cancer research at the same time he's a cancer patient himself fighting cancer and had his leg amputated.
  • The Hubble Telescope

    The Hubble Telescope was launched by NASA in 1990 and still operates to this day (2022) and has helped scientists at NASA discover many amazing things.
  • 9/11

    9/11 was a major historical event that could have been easily avoided with better airport security literally not checking one of the hijacker's tickets. Two planes were hijacked and flown into the world trade centre instantly killing hundreds of people which later turned into over 3000 just that day alone and hundreds of people died later because of smoke inhalation.

    And there was one more plane aimed at the pentagon but the passengers fought back and sadly it ended up crashing still into the ground instantly killing everyone on board.
  • Miracle on the Hudson

    An airbus A320 piloted by Chelsey Sullenberger also known as Sully crash-landed an airbus A320 saving hundreds with no deaths after his plane got a birdstrike after taking off there was nothing else he could do rather than put it down in the river this was a great look on the aviation industry and proved what planes and pilots were capable of.
