The 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution–which banned the manufacture, transportation and sale of intoxicating liquors. The reason for this was to reduce crime and corruption, solve social problems, reduce the tax burden created by prisons and poorhouses, and improve health and hygiene in America. This amendment went into action on January 17th, 1920.

King Tutankhamen's Tomb was found and then opened by Howard Carter. This king is also known widely as King Tut. Not only did they find the mummified King Tut, but they found endless gold, and riches beyond anyone can imagine. There was jewelry, statues, and even a chariot. There were weapons, clothes, along with the perfectly preserved King Tut mummy.

In 1924, the first Macy's thanksgiving day parade was held. The store behind this was Philadelphia's Gimble Brothers Department Store. And the first parade was staged, a thanksgiving procession was held in 1920. Featuring 50 people, 15 cars, and a fireman dressed up as Santa Claus.

His most famous writings were his depictions of the Jazz Age. And his most brilliant novel was The Great Gatsby written in 1925. He was named after the man who wrote the Star Spangled Banner.

John Logie Baird was a Scottish inventor. He would invent the television, the television set, colored television, and the mechanical television. He would debut this invention on Frith Street to show the people that his invention could successfully transmit and receive pictures. As a child he invented his own version of the telephone so he could talk to his friends across the street.

On October 4th, 1927 construction began on one of America's most iconic land marks. Being sculpted in the Black Hills of South Dakota, it would take another 12 years for four of the most revered American presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. Historian Doane Robinson conceived the idea for Mount Rushmore in 1923 to promote tourism in South Dakota.
