Theodore became the 26th president and was the youngest yet during that time. He served in office from 1901-1909. He brought excitement and power to office leading the US toward progressive reforms and foreign policy. -

US troops are sent to Haiti
By sending these troops, the US took $500,000 from the Haitian National Bank. This resulted in the US gaining control of the bank. -
The revival of the KKK
A man by the name of William Joseph Simmons revived the klan. He did this because he saw a film in which portrayed klansmen as heroes. He dedicated his life by selling memberships to the klan. -
The Russian Revolution
This revolution marked the end of centuries of Russian rule. It was one of the most explosive revolutions of the 20th century. The Bolsheviks would become a communist party of the Soviet Union after seizing power and destroying csarist rule. -
WW1 ends
Germany surrendered and all nations agreed to end fighting. Terms of peace were negotiated and that is when the Treaty of Versailles was born. -
The Treaty of Versailles
It was signed to officially end WW1. This treaty held Germany responsible for the war since they were the ones initially who surrendered. -
The Red Scare
During the Red Scare, citizens were afraid that incoming immigrants were participating in communism, socialism, or other anarchist ideology. This was seen from WW1 and the end of WW1. -
The 19th Amendment
This amendment birthed the right for women to begin to vote. When the House of Representatives passed the the amendment, two weeks later the Senate followed which allowed it to start. -
The First Radio Station
The first commercial broadcast was made real from the KDKA radio station in Pittsburg. The date was significant because it was Election Day. It proved to be revolutionary because people could hear anything being broadcasted way before the newspapers got to them.
