  • Assassination of William McKinley

    The 25th President of the United States is shot and fatally wounded and Theodore Roosevelt becomes the 26th President of the United States.
  • The Wright Brothers' First Flight

    The brothers Wilbur and Orville decided to to establish a way to fly after seeing how birds were able to glide in the air. On December 17th they made their first successful flight.
  • The Great San Francisco Earthquake

    April 18th 1906 a huge earthquake struck San Francisco and demolished about 80% of it. Approximately 3000 were found dead.
  • The Roosevelt Panic

    The New York stock exchange dropped 50% causing the banks to go bankrupt and the nation to panic even more because we were already having a hard time economically.
  • The NAACP is Founded

    Known as the Nations oldest and longest civil rights group. Half a million member pushed for the right to vote and equality.
  • 27th Presidant of the United States

    Most known for getting stuck in a bath tub. People say he was a real political heavyweight.

    The immigrants that worked there were locked in because the employers didn't want them taking any unauthorized breaks. Meanwhile a smoldering piece of fabric caused the building to go up in flames. Many ended up jumping from the windows.
  • Titanic and its traumatic sinking.

    Only four days into the voyage the titanic was unable to steer clear of an iceberg. The ship was going too fast and ended up crashing. There were not many lifeboats aboard the ship as there should have been and as a result over 3000 people suffered a cold and possibly bone breaking death. The public was outraged to hear such a thing had happened.

    Woodrow Wilson is elected the 28th President of the United States.
  • World War I

    World War I is started after Archduke Ferdinand is assassinated by gavrilo princip his self. While the others were hung he was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He died of tuberculosis. One of the people who witnessed this incident and knew the whole story, ended up being my 7th grade history teacher's professors. My history teacher told us the story including the flaws in the plans the black hand had. The percussion grenade didn't work. So princip shot him. He was only 16.
