    This massacre was a part of the "Ghost Dance" war. U.S army men surrounded Ghost Dancers at Wounded Knee Creek. After asking the dancer to surrender their weapons someone fired a shot. Then a fight broke out with a horrible massacre to follow. Over 150 women, men, and children from Lakota were killed and many were severely wounded.
