    Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763 was the act of colonist getting the land from the French. It was consisted of the main colonies, Quebec, West Florida, and East Florida. During this Proclamation soldiers fought during the Seven Years War. The colonist simply rejected this law because this law was kept to keep them under total control for England and Britain and the colonist did not agree with that.
  • Currency Act

    Currency Act

    This act regulated printing and paper money of the colonial legislatures. It set up penalties and fines for the government and caused a great currency shortage. In a response to this act the colonist protested and represented the "No Taxation without Representation.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act

    During the sugar act it was imposed of increasing the duties of the British for their non- British goods to the colonist. The colonist responded to this act by a protest. Many of the colonist also began to smuggle sugar.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act taxed newspaper, pamphlets, dice, etc. on the colonist. The colonist responded to the stamp act with the motto "No taxation without Representation" and refused to pay the tax.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act

    This act allowed the governors or the higher ups to find buildings and housing for the British soldiers. The colonist simply resented the act because of the soldiers they had to feed and give shelter to them.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act

    This act allowed the parliament to make laws helping the American colonies. It was an act that repealed the Stamp Act. The colonist saw the declaratory as a threat and the colonies felt that it wasn't no representation given to them from parliament.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act

    This act initiated the taxes on glass, lead, paper, and or tea. In response to the Townshend Act the colonist organized boycotts of the British goods. They stopped importing the goods and avoided paying taxes on them.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre was an event that led the King to help the armies in the town on Boston. This Massacre would soon bring great rebellion throughout the colonies. In response to this event the colonist were very angry and wanted to boycott for the British goods.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party

    This was an act of protest where large amounts of tea were spilled and thrown. This was an act of "No Taxation without Representation" in reguards to the East India Company and the American Revolution. The colonist protested against this and resisted. They wanted Britain to repeal the Intolerable Act.
  • Quatering Act 1774

    Quatering Act 1774

    In this Act Great Britain housed their soldiers, but were only able to find homes for the colonial legislatures. The colonist were angry because they saw it as unfair.
  • Intolerable Act

    Intolerable Act

    This act authorized the navy and were given laws to the Americans who could not tolerate them. This act was also established by Britain and was a punishment for the Boston Tea Party. In response to this act the colonist boycotted and protested.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act

    This act granted the emancipation of the French. It preserved them a code and helped the Catholic Church as well. The colonist did not agree with this act because they saw it as being a threat to their government and freedom.
